36. Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (A)
The most Canadian movie made by a Hollywood studio in many a year. This is my first rewatch since it came out, and it's still a really fun exercise in style that also has a core substance. It's a shame that it failed, though in many respects that's not surprising, because movie audiences rarely seem that receptive to these kinds of genre-blending stories.
Actually, an upcoming movie that sort of reminds me of this is, of all things, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter
(which also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead), which has a very pulp/"awesome" premise that comics fans tend to revel in. We'll see how that does (both commercially and as a movie).
