I can see why this disappointed at the box office compared to the budget, but I am glad that it got that budget. The film looks wonderful and it has a nice story about a pioneer of film making (which, as I later found out, is surprisingly close to what really happened).
It was marketed as a children's film but it probably offers too little fun/excitement for them, because it relies a lot on nostalgia (I especially liked the flash backs to the early days of film making).
