Oh the hair definitely stood out for me the first time I watched "The Search", no pun intended. I was amused by how it was essentially gone as quickly and inexplicably (well, not as inexplicably) as it arrived.
Really, that hairstyle would be a good argument for the entirety of both episodes being a Dominion simulation.
