Cary Grant and Katharine Hepburn made three comedies together (the first and last directed by George Cukor) in the span of three years. Bringing Up Baby
and The Philadelphia Story
are both much more famous than Holiday
, but it's arguably the best of the three, I think. It's free of Hepburn's unbalanced sociopathy in former, and the very sexist gender politics of the latter. It has some very nicely-drawn characters, even the minor roles, and the scenes with Grant and Hepburn (as well as Hepburn and Grant's two friends) are very appealing.
