136. The Gunfight at the OK Corral (B+)
The problem with this movie is that Kirk Douglas is immensely watchable as Doc Holiday, but Burt Lancaster as Wyatt Earp (technically, the lead) is about as interesting as a piece of paper. It sparks with energy when Douglas is on screen, and goes limp when he's off it. Okay, it also is pretty energetic when the theme song, sung by Frankie Laine, comes in and out. I'm being a little hard on the movie here, though. It's a mostly enjoyable (and historically inaccurate as hell) Western with a good cast, including DeForest Kelley in a small role as one of the Earp brothers.
