I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Captain America's "proper milieu" is not the 1940s.
Yes it is. It's where he belongs conceptually and it's where he works best. It's where his soul is, as this movie demonstrates. The sheer volume of more "modern" material doesn't mitigate that one bit, and the "Buck Rogers" schtick doesn't really impress.
