Re: Captain America: The First Avenger-Review, Discuss, Grade, Sequel,
If Captain America were really a movie made for the sake of making a good movie, though, and the potential beginning of a Really Damned Good movie series, they'd have left him in his proper milieu at end.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Captain America's "proper milieu" is not the 1940s. He's been the man out of time for nearly 50 years now; a good 90% of the stories published with him feature him in the present day. The 1940s are his original period of publication under Timely and, in the Marvel version of his character, his (extended) origin story. Seeing him in the modern world dealing with the loss of his old life and finding his place in the new one is where his character really gets interesting.
