Re: Buffy season nine discussion thread

Dark Horse solicitations, including Buffy S9 #1 and Angel & Faith #2.

http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=32737

Buffy #1 is titled "Freefall":

Buffy Season 9 begins!
BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER SEASON 9: FREEFALL #1
Joss Whedon (W), Andrew Chambliss (W), Georges Jeanty (P), Dexter Vines (I), Steve Morris (Cover), Jo Chen (Variant cover), and Georges Jeanty (25th anniversary variant cover)
On sale Sept 14
FC, 40 pages
$2.99
Ongoing
Season 8 ended with a bang when Buffy cut the world off from the hell dimensions and all supernatural influence. Great, right? Except Buffy has left her best friend, Willow, powerless, and ended the long line of vampire slayers, leaving her hated by the hundreds of girls who recently stood behind her. Newly relocated to San Francisco, Buffy can count on a fresh start, and focus on what she’s good at—slaying.
• Written by creator Joss Whedon, with Andrew Chambliss of the CW’s The Vampire Diaries!
Now all 3 covers for Buffy #1 have been released, and I really like Steve Morris' cover - very dreamlike and surreal. The other two previously released covers (Jo Chen's variant cover and Jeanty's DH 25th anniversary cover) are also excellent, but my order of preference this time is: Morris, Jeanty, Chen.

Two covers Angel & Faith #2 have been released. Very action-hero shots, unlike the Buffy covers.

ANGEL AND FAITH #2
Christos Gage (W), Rebekah Isaacs (A/Variant cover), Steve Morris (Cover), and Dan Jackson (C)
On sale Sept 28
FC, 40 pages
$2.99
Ongoing
Following some bad—many would say unforgivable—choices as Twilight, Angel needed to hide away and wallow in his guilt. But with a little TLC—courtesy of his only remaining ally, Faith, Angel is back to fighting the good fight and taking demons down one by one. With the Watcher files at their disposal, Angel comes up with the ultimate plan for redemption.
• Executive produced by Joss Whedon!
• Follows the events of Buffy Season 8!
In the meantime, there's going to be a Spike web comic written by Jane Espenson and called "Magical Mystery Tour Featuring the Beetles" set between #39 and #40 in season 8. I think it will be free for download in August... but I'm not sure, this is pretty confusing: http://www.darkhorse.com/Blog/428/di...rtar-retailers
