To be fair, Stoker was dying at the time, having had at least a couple of strokes by 1911...
Oh, yeah, there are definitely extenuating circumstances, but Jewel
is still a fun read, but I couldn't really recommend Worm
to anyone but Stoker completists. (The less said about The Lady of the Shroud
, the better!)
