I'm not worried about his accent. While I liked the movie, Centurion is not the best film for strong dialogue, voices and accents.
His old Brit speak is fine in Inglourious Basterds. And yeah, speaking of Connery, I don't think accent much matters when it comes to Bond, does it? Lazenby, anyone? MF could just use his plain Irish sound.
Well, Brosnan frequently did. And apparently they offered the role to Liam Neeson ahead of Brosnan. Neeson pretty much does everything in the same accent.
