What I don't get is this...she was in every scene of the movie, and so was the actress that starred in True Grit, but the True Grit actress got a "best supporting actress" nomination. WTF is that about?!?
Steinfeld submitted herself as a supporting actress to give herself a better chance of winning.

A)Jeff Bridges movie
B)studios did the submitting anyway
Didn't realize the actor placed themselves into a particular category. You sure they do that on their on behalf?
You often see full page ads, paid for by studios, with the "for your consideration" tagline so I guess that plays into why I thought studios did the nominating. Otherwise you'd have Jack Black or someone trying to pull a publicity stunt nominating themselves.
