Some of those people are absolutely incredible. Mal fitted in both categories. His courage and unwavering good humour in the face of adversity was an inspiration; this board, and the world outside it, is the poorer for his passing.

cultcross has summed it up pretty well, as many others have. Having lost several family members to cancer, and gone through some nasty depression in my younger days, I was really glad to share Mallory's friendship and fellowship. He will be missed.
