THAT is the way to do things!
I always imagined that the engineering section of these ships were filled with all kinds of monstrous machinery to make them go, but most fan projects don't go far beyond the engineering room seen in the show. I also like how you don't constrain yourself to pre-laid-out decks. Real ships make the machinery fit first, then they fit the decks in whatever is left.
