Went out for a nice dinner last night to celebrate recent decisions of mine.
Had a decent smoked salmon/poached egg/pastry thing to start, then a fabulous confit chicken leg (stunning quality meat, similar to a Bresse). Various awesome cheeses after. Too full for dessert after all that! The wines? An acidic Riesling with the starter, spicy Gruner Veltliner for the main and lovely Jurancon (perfect for goat's cheese) and rich Muscat (total synergy with a particular artisanal cheddar) for the cheeses.
