From that list:
Stop a VHS video tape, remove it from the player, and you know exactly where it will start when you put it back in the machine and press play again. DVDs on principle never start in the same place twice, or you have to remember the exact scene number to resume.
Actually, the blu-ray player my parents have will start a movie at the same spot you stopped it at, even if you take the disc out.
I know, the list is about DVD vs VHS, but since you can play DVDs on a blu-ray player, I thought mentioning it would be relevant.
