Rewatched Moon recently. It's still great. Something I noticed this time around that I hadn't really paid attention to previously was the soundtrack. It's really amazing. A

Inglorious Basterds - This film felt like Tarantino from 10 years ago, somehow, and that's a good thing. The first really good film he's made since Jackie Brown in my opinion, and no doubt, it's even better than that film. Is it as good as Pulp Fiction? Well, no, BUT- it does show how well a revenge fantasy movie can work, if the villains are particularly deserving, and who are more deserving than Nazis? I like how it played into your expectations about Nazis, and then played against them, and then played back into them again to show that you were right all along. With material like this, one can imagine that the movie practically writes itself, yet Tarantino manages to find some unexpected territory to explore along the way. Exciting, visceral, and brainy like the best of his work, yet not quite on the level of a Reservoir Dogs or a Pulp Fiction. B+
