I find elements or whole shows unwatchable, but some of the best genuine SF of the past 22 years has been anime. Even going through an old episode of "Starblazers" recently (not Battleship Yamato..which I also have) circa 1974/1980, it occurred to me that they stopped to give some pretty good sci-fi explanations of hyperdrive and warp..Star Trek never did that.

And just as many Japanese (not to forget young people in the West too) probably find American animation quite lacking-in story, plot, and art. Might want to keep that in mind when dissing anime.
