Of course. Forbidden Planet is by far the more spectacular of the two films - it's a pulp cover brought to life. The Day The Earth Stood Still is a far more restrained film, a long stretch of it is indistinguishable from any domestic drama of the era.
Also Sunset Boulevard is for my money Billy Wilder's best film. The Apartment is my runner-up.
