No "name" director, or "name" writer, or famous actor. Instead, aim for an entire cast/crew of fresh faces. Someone who feels passionately about Superman and understands the history, but doesnt' write it to appeal to fanboys and teenagers. A director who wants to have it true to the story's feel. Someone who looks like and emboies what Superman should be.
Oh, and no John Ottman.

That all depends on what you mean by "name".
Superman: The Movie had a "name" director and a "name" writer and it turned out great.
Superman Returns didn't have "name" writers and I wouldn't necessarily call Singer a "name" director, but that movie tended to be disliked by many.
