Commentary on Chapter 16

Mere words seem insufficient to express how terribly, terribly wrong the situation has suddenly turned. I had mistakenly thought things were as bad as they were going to get. I was wrong. The introduction of the Omega molecule now threatens not only the continued existence of Chariscarpia’s magnificent vessel, but the looming specter of the Borg now casts a shadow over both her ship as well as the Angel.

Question: Per SFC’s instructions regarding Chariscarpia’s ship… wouldn’t destroying her vessel cause the molecule to be released from whatever controlled containment system it was in? Wouldn’t that prove more dangerous than merely letting the ship leave with instructions to stay away from Federation space?
