Personally, I'm a long-time "Niner", however, I think Enterprise was never given the credit it was duly noted, and should have been given the respect it deserved, but never got.
The canonistas and the Trek purists are the ones to blame. You wouldn't believe how many Trekkies took that line of GR's - "Always look into the future, not the past"
way too literally and seriously. For example, every now and then (on this little Croatian board) someone pops up claiming that ENT was an abomination for braking the "not the past"
rule (ST XI got the same kind of treatment from most of these people).
