Spirodopoulos would have LOVED it if they could've come up with another tactic in time, believe me. But that gun continued to kill people and hem them in...it could've routed them right there. So in the end he went with the option presented.

"Shameful waste" isn't the word I would choose for it, though. It is a shame that it came down to that, but to me a life is not wasted if given willingly to a purpose such as theirs.

And now you may see why I find it easier to write for Cardassians than I do for the Federation.

Now, I'm not going to give any hints on Speros, but I'm kind of curious: what do you think his expression meant?
