B5 was sufficiently "dark" in tone and it was populated with credible and realistic characters. There's simply no need to turn it into something else when it was pretty much spot-on first time around.
I'll admit the CGI is weak, but I don't understand the "damn those pioneers, why didn't they do as well as those with the fully-developed tech!?" mindset.
Agreed. CGI had to start somewhere. Crapping on B5's FX with the benefit of hindsight and the technological advances made in the 15 years
since the series proper premiered is just ridiculous.
