G1 Jazz's chest and arms were similar in design to those of Prowl and Smokescreen, but neither Jazz nor Smokescreen was simply a recoloring of the Prowl/Bluestreak mold. Smokescreen had a number of uniquely molded components, and Jazz was even more distinctive than Smokescreen, particularly because of his waist, leg and head articulation.
