Mmm, I do love a good WCB. The recipe was already posted in a General Trek here. It looks quite tasty. And welcome to all of the new folks since my last appearance here.
It appears that besides being old, I am losing my sight as well. To that end, I misplaced my welcome message into it's own thread below (Dang blasted worm holes)... I am sorry for this breach of antiquated etiquette .
Hi, im from England and i grew up watching TNG, DS9 and VOY after which i watched TOS and then ENT, TNG is probably my favourite show although other than ENT i loved all the shows and my favourite Captian would probably be Picard, my favourite characther of all though is Spock, im really looking forward to the new film as im hoping it will be better than ENT which i found dissapointing as a whole
I just stumbled on this site a few days ago when someone linked me one of the caption competitions on the TOS boards (the one with Kirk holding Helen, some of the photoshops in that thread had me in stitches), and I've been reading and lurking every day since then, and I finally decided I want in on the fun. Grew up watching TNG, and I started getting into TOS properly a few years ago (before that the only TOS material I'd seen was the movies and maybe 1-2 episodes from TV). I also recently started working through my TOS DVDs again these last couple of weeks, watching them so much that I've pretty much been dreaming about it every night (yeah kinda sad). So anyway, hi.
Newcomer's First Contact Hello, I am Dingo. And to answer potential questions of the bat, no I'm not Australian, but a Voyager original fanfiction character I'm creating is and Dingo is a nickname he is called. I've been a Star Trek fan since 1996, when I was twelve years old and reading the young adult Star Trek Deep Space Nine paperbacks that focused on Jake Sisko and Nog. My current Trekkie obsession right now is Voyager. In reallife my hobbies include rugby, swimming, the martial arts, surfing (both actual surfing and web surfing, lol), reading all sorts of fiction and non-fiction, and creative writing. I'm a US Serviceman deployed to Iraq (I'm in the Navy but transferring to either the US Army or the Army National Guard next year). I'm currently watching Season 6 of Voyager on DVD and spinning up a Star Trek Voyager crossover fanfic that focuses on some lower decks characters (Tal Celes, Kenneth Dalby, and William Telfer) together with my original character.
Re: Newcomer's First Contact Thanks for the welcome, Locutus, still under the Borg Queen's sway? No. I didn't eat your baybay, that was some other Dingo.
Re: Newcomer's First Contact Greetings, I am Australis, and I am from Australia. What is your planet like? Or failing that, your continental location?
Re: Newcomer's First Contact Well, my planet is about 75% water with a breathable nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere. My region of the planet is a region known as Florida which has a humid climate, nice beaches, and is a big tourist attraction. When I can PM I might PM you for some Australian cultural stuff to flesh out my OC. I've done plenty of research, but I could use some real inputs. Regards, Dingo
Re: Newcomer's First Contact Welcome to the board! Unlike my name suggests, I am not from California. I am from England.
Re: Newcomer's First Contact So, so, so many deceptive names. *sigh* Well, I can assure you I'm from J. Allen, a mothership found deep below the ground in a series of caverns. We, the brethren, walk the earth looking for random minutiae regarding Star Trek and it's various incarnations. We have a newsletter, and it is made from post consumer recyclable waste. J.
Re: Newcomer's First Contact Understood. I should've looked a little more carefully for this thread and intro'd myself here.
