This is probably the only one of the stories that progressed in a perfectly straight line--but in "Sacrifice" my protagonist was dying, and in "Exits in the Haze" I had...other reasons for obfuscating things a bit.
This time, I thought showing a straight progression in how Aamin moves from one life to the other would be more appropriate.
