Okay, after thinking about this for a while and I know this will fall on deaf ears but here goes:
I would have liked to start a character coming up from the academy. After graduating, they get to pick 4 to 5 basic ships or if they have friends or someone they know, they can work on their ship if the person is a captain.
Mainly have the templates of each ship be a city.
