I visited the Ackermansion twice - Once in 1975, when I was 15, and again in 1989. I was amazed on the second visit that Forry remembered me from the first one, 14 years earlier. He was an amazing man, and an amazing fan.

RIP, Forry.

I am somewhat chagrined to say that I didn't even realize he was still around at this point.

Always enjoyed Famous Monsters back in the day.

Condolences.

Forest J. Ackerman RIP

No thread yet regarding the sad demise of Forest J. Ackerman? That needs to be remedied immediatly.

I don't believe I ever met the man, but as someone who grew up on his ground-breaking magazine, FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND, I do feel like a little piece of my childhood just passed away. FAMOUS MONSTERS inspired a generation fans, including, I believe, the likes of Steven Spielberg and John Landis.

It's a sad day for us old-time horror fans.
