'Star Trek' Book And Comic News
 
The 24th century will brought into conflict on an epic movie scale in upcoming <i>Star Trek</i> books and more races will be featured in a second <i>Alien Spotlight</i> series of comics.<p>As reported by <A class="link" HREF="http://www.newsarama.com">Newsarama.com</A>, the <i>Destiny</i> series of books will debut, encompassing both the 22nd and the 24th centuries, with all of the captains from Picard on up and their respective crews being seen in these new stories.<p>The <i>Destiny</i> series, penned by <font color=yellow>David Mack</font>, and due out beginning in September, will feature a full-scale Borg invasion that makes all past Borg encounters seem like nothing but mere incidents.<p>There will also be new <i>Star Trek</i> comics in the near future, including a possible <i>Titan</i> comic book, or perhaps one based on the adventures of Captain Sulu. According to <font color=yellow>Andy Schmidt</font> of IDW Publishing, talks are ongoing with Pocket Books regarding use of material from Pocket Book novels, possibly creating a cohesive continuity between <i>Star Trek</i> books and comics. <p>A second Alien Spotlight series is planned, which will focus on the Ferengi, the Klingons and the Q.
