Auberjonois To Play Former Child Abuser
<font color=yellow>René Auberjonois</font> will reprise his role of Father Patrick Murphy, a painful part of detective Grace Hanadarko's past, in <i>Saving Grace</i>.<p>As reported by <A class="link" HREF="">The OCregister</A>, Auberjonois will be appearing again on <i>Saving Grace</i> in the second-season opener as a priest who molested Grace when she was a child and setting up a dilemma for the detective who is trying to redeem her life.<p><i>Saving Grace</i> is about a woman bound for Hell who is given a chance to redeem her life with the help of an angel named Earl sent to aid her. Grace is a homicide detective who in spite of being a good cop is a rather flawed human being. Grace drinks heavily, chain-smokes and is having an affair with her married partner in addition to engaging in one-night stands with other men.<p>Auberjonois appeared in the season-one finale (<i>Taco, Tulips, Duck and Spices</i>) as the pedophile priest Father Murphy. A Catholic priest as a pedophile? What a concept. Good thing that kind of behavior doesn't happen with priests in real life. Do Protestant/Jewish/Muslim/Hindu/Buddhist/Shinto/etc. pedophiles convert to Catholicism and then become Catholic priests first before starting their life of crime?
