Alexander Courage Remembered
<font color=yellow>Alexander (Sandy) Courage</font> was honored by friends, family and colleagues at a memorial service held last Sunday.<p>As reported by the <A class="link" HREF="http://www.filmmusicsociety.org/">Film Music Society</A>, Courage, best-known for his music for <i>Star Trek's</i> original series, died at the age of eighty-eight on May 15th. A memorial service was held for him at the Pacific Palisades Presbyterian Church on June 29th, where speakers remembered the talented arranger and orchestrator.<p>Composer <font color=yellow>John Williams</font> called Courage "a fantastic artist, craftsman and connoisseur. He loved sports cars, cigars and life." Williams added that Courage led a "joyous, happy, highly contributive life."<p>Music editor <font color=yellow>Kenneth Hall</font> described Courage's personality. "He was always so sweet and so humble," said Hall, adding that Courage had been a "treasured friend."<p>Courage's stepson spoke of his love of astronomy. His stepdaughter Lisa called him "the most generous man I've ever known." <p>A ten-minute video tribute to Courage was shown which showcased Courage, his colleagues and family and his music from both <i>Star Trek</i> and <i>Lost in Space</i>. The video was created by <font color=yellow>Michael Matessino</font> (Restoration Supervisor on <i>Star Trek: The Motion Picture</i> ) and <font color=yellow>David C.
