'Star Trek' DVD Fan Collective Set
A DVD set featuring "bizarre and strange" episodes to be offered to fans on September 16th. <p>As reported by <A class="link" HREF="http://www.tvshowsondvd.com">tvshowsondvd.com</A> another <i>Fan Collective</i> set of DVDs will be released this autumn. The <i>Alternative Realities Fan Collective</i> set will feature bizarre and strange episodes from all five <i>Star Trek</i> shows. <p>According to the studio, one's favorite characters will behave contrary to type, in familiar, but odd circumstances. <p>The five disc collection contains twenty episodes and runs for approximately fifteen hours and eighteen minutes. These kinds of themes are interesting to me. What with the SCI-FI Channel buying TNG, my hope is that they purchase the rights to air all 10 of the movies and all 6 of the series. That way they can do something similar to what these themed box sets are. On say Friday nights, the SCI-FI Channel could air a 4-hour block of Trek using various themes such as specific aliens, time travel, 'fish out of water,' alternate realities, crewmen on trial, etc. The block could include one episode from 4 of the series or it could be a block from one. They could also show two movies each week as we lead up to STXI. They could poll the viewers for suggestions, too. There are many possibilities.
