Work on the film will move to post-production; to the editors and to ILM, who will be working on visual effects for the film.<p><li><A class="link" HREF="http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23831305/">MSNBC</A> reports that <font color=yellow>Tom Cruise</font> visited the set of <i>Star Trek XI</i> recently. Cruise is reported to be friends with <font color=yellow>J.J. Abrams</font> and is a <i>Star Trek</i> fan. A source reported that "He asked J.J. if there's a way he can meet Leonard Nimoy. He said he'd always really respected his work."<p><li>Several sites reported the recent rumor that a new <i>Star Trek XI</i> teaser trailer was to appear with the forthcoming <i>Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull</i>. Yeah, because having Tom Cruise appear in Star Trek can only have negatives.

Reminds me of the horror movie nuts who thought casting a musician like Kelly Rowland in Freddy vs. Jason would "ruin" such a well-respected and acclaimed pair of franchises that are true indicators of an actor's craft.

I wonder if this means that Cruise is attempting to convert him to the Church of Scientology...

Uh, yes. Absolutely. He'd be a distraction at best. He shouldn't be in ST-XI for the same reason Ron Howard wouldn't give John Travolta a bit part in Apollo 13.
