'Star Trek: New Voyages' Production Garners Hugo Nomination
 
The 2008 Hugo nominations have been released and <i>Star Trek: New Voyages: World Enough and Time</i> is on the ballot joining <i>Battlestar Galactica</i>, <i>Doctor Who</i> and <i>Torchwood</i> stories.<p>As reported by <A class="link" HREF="http://www.thehugoawards.org">The Hugo Awards</A>, <i>World Enough and Time</i>, written by <font color=yellow>Marc Scott Zicree</font> and <font color=yellow>Michael Reaves</font> was nominated for a 2008 Hugo award, after all four hundred and eighty-three nominating ballots were cast.<p><i>World Enough and Time</i> is up for "Best Dramatic Presentation, Short Form". It faces competition from: <i>Battlestar Galactica: Razor</i>, written by <font color=yellow>Michael Taylor</font>; <i>Doctor Who: Human Nature</i>, written by <font color=yellow>Paul Cornell</font>; <i>Doctor Who: Blink</i> written by <font color=yellow>Stephen Moffat</font> and <i>Torchwood: Captain Jack Harkness</i>, written by <font color=yellow>Catherine Treganna</font>.<p>Voting on the nominees will continue until July 1, 2008. The winners will be announced on Saturday, August 9, with trophies to be awarded at Denvention's Hugo Awards Ceremony in Denver, Colorado.<p>The Hugo Awards have been given annually since 1955. <i>Star Trek</i> Hugo Awards have included: <i>The Menagerie</i> (Dramatic Presentation 1967), <i>City on the Edge of Forever</i> (Dramatic Presentation 1968), <font color=yellow>Gene Roddenberry</font> (Special Award for Star Trek 1968), <i>Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Inner Light</i> (Dramatic Presentation 1993) and <i>Star Trek: The Next Generation: All Good Things</i> (Dramatic Presentation 1995). ^ I'm not so certain of that. I remember reading in the Fan Productions forum that CBS/Paramount just ignores them normally but if they start winning awards then they may lose their ability to ignore them.
