Photo request -- Enterprise hangar deck studio miniature
 

Recently someone posted some pictures of the Enterprise hangar deck miniature that I had never seen before. The pictures included some photographic angles on the model that gave a nice closeup of what the port side of the hangar looked like.

If anyone knows where these images are located online, I'd sure appreciate a linky! Thanks...

Thank you klingongoat... it was indeed Richard Datin's website I was thinking of, and it was this picture in particular that I was interested in viewing.

Unfortunately, my memory played a trick on me--I remembered that image being larger; the resolution on that photo is too small to make out the writing on those labels.

Oh well, at least that angle helped confirm the shapes and positions of the windows on the hangar bay observation deck. Thanks!

These aren't the specific ones you were asking for, but they might prove useful. As far as I know, they have not been made widely available before now. They are rather small, but they are unique in giving us some new angles on the miniature.

I believe these photos are of the model before it was completed. Note the one image that seems to lack the aft control booths. Also, the various signs are still blank at this stage.

That's OK, these have already been very helpful. For example, the projections on the port and starboard sides of the hangar that are shaped like the twin aft control booths but are connected to the observation platforms--I couldn't tell from the images I had that there are actually six windows[/i]--three small and three large. There are also lots of other little details that your photos reveal... very, very useful.

That's extremely cool. The hangar bay is one of my favorite sets. I especially like the 3rd one from the top with the landing view.

Keep in mind that the hangar deck "miniature" had to be built in scale with the shuttlecraft miniature, which itself was at least a foot long. According to Richard Datin's website, the hangar deck model was a whopping ten feet long and six feet wide--many of us puny pink-skins could comfortably lie down width-wise inside that monster!
