Halloween Costume Thread!

It is October the first, TrekBBS, and I am continuing my annual tradition of the Halloween Costume Thread! (Though, admittedly, some bugger beat me to it last year.)

So, what are you going to be for Halloween this year? Do you have favorite past costumes to share? Be sure to post pictures!

To get you in the mood, here is some Halloween ADORABLENESS in the form of my nephews:

I have been thinking for a while that I should revive my Zoidberg cosplay. Halloween is as good an opportunity as anytime. Here be pics!

But I'll probably just try and make an authentic Scotsman costume what with my kilt on the way.

Just realized I need a Halloween party to go to! Maybe I know someone around here who knows one. Otherwise I guess I'll have an online one or something.

Well, if you can make it to Texas, you can come to our Halloween party.

I'd love to, but seeing as I just had a US trip at the beginning of September I'm not in a position to afford another one for a while.

At first, I thought that was a boxer in a pre-match robe

Since halloween isn't usually celebrated in my country I'll have to see if I can get my friends together for a costume party. When I get them to come in costume I'm going to think of what I'll be wearing.

I love the costumes so far! Keep up the good work people!

Last year's costume, which I wore to Austin's Wizard World Convention, since I had to work Halloween night:

I'm the Avengers!

I may just go with one of my DS9 costumes this year, since I have all three colors to choose from, plus a phaser & tricorder.

This costume is amazing.

I have no idea what to be this year. I was thinking of maybe Daria, because I've been wanting combat boots and I could probably use all aspects of the costume in regular dress anyway (except the fake glasses and wig I'd need), so it would be practical. It's hard to find the right green jacket, though. I'd make one, but the roommate with the sewing machine moved out.

I was also thinking of Velma from Scooby Doo, because Scooby Doo is awesome and I could totally pull off Velma.

I really like cross-dressing, though. Maybe one of the superhero costumes with all the muscles? It'd be hard to get one in my size, though...maybe if I got a little boy's one...I bet I'd fit in something made for a chubby 12 year old boy.

Harry Potter could be fun, I even have a green sweater with an H (for Hannah) on it, which would take things in a different direction from the school uniform Harry Potters.

Update: Found a pair of oversized round glasses for 5 bucks, so it looks like it'll be between Harry Potter and Daria. :)

Thanks! I really had great fun wearing it, totally submerged myself into the character. And I broke a lot of hearts when I told people they couldn't vote for me in the cosplay contest because of messed up rules.

I'm on the fence between Velma and Harry Potter. I'm always for a sexy Velma (who likes Daphne anyway?), but I'm also a big HP fan...tough one!

'Tis indeed.

Makes me wonder how much I would need to let this out to get it around my more character-appropriate waistline these days:
