Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Rachael Leigh Cook began modeling at the age of ten, gracing Milk-Bone boxes and Target ads. An anti-drugs TV campaign she appeared in where she smashed eggs with a frying pan brought her national attention. Her modeling agency sent her to read for a short film, which changed the course of her career. Cook made her movie debut with The Baby-Sitters Club in 1995. The 1999 romantic comedy She's All That proved to be her big acting break. She was nominated for the MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Performance and won the Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Actress (Newcomer).
Quote:

"Perception": Eric McCormack plays Dr. Daniel Pierce, an eccentric neuroscience professor with paranoid schizophrenia who is recruited by the FBI to help solve complex cases. Pierce has an intimate knowledge of human behavior and a masterful understanding of the way the mind works. He also has an uncanny ability to see patterns and look past people's conscious emotions to see what lies beneath.

Pierce's mind may be brilliant, but it's also damaged. He struggles with hallucinations and paranoid delusions brought on by his schizophrenia. Oddly, Daniel considers some of his hallucinations to be a gift. They occasionally allow him to make connections that his conscious mind can't yet process. At other times, the hallucinations become Daniel's greatest curse, leading him to behave in irrational, potentially dangerous ways.

Loved her since her "this is your brain on drugs" ad. More of a "cutie" than a "hottie" to me, but still a babe.

Cute indeed. Thumbs up for one of Ryan Reynolds' fiancées.

For a while, it seemed like she just disappeared so it's nice to see a bit of a comeback with Perception. Still haven't seen the second season.

Didn't know that was her.

Not a very good ad if you ask me.

I just read that she's expecting her first child with her husband of 9 years, actor Daniel Gillies. For those who watch Saving Hope, he's on that show. Lucky that both their shows shoot in Toronto so they can be together.

UP

She was Nancy Drew? Can't recall the last time I heard an adaptation of that being done even.

She was in Nancy Drew. Emma Roberts was Nancy.

Way up. She is a great and very underused actress.

She's talented and certainly cute, but doesn't really do it for me. Thumbs sideways.

That ad actually kind of makes me want to try heroin.

Yeah. The "sexy" subtext is really jarring for an anti-drug ad. :wtf:

Robot Chicken parodied that ad at one point...and Rachael herself did the voice. :)
