please have a better screenplay, please have a better screenplay.

The story was shit, but the look was fantastic. So, I am of mixed emotions.

The screenplay had it's problems but no more than most Bond's. The only thing that worries me is that Logan will be writing this one alone...

Skyfall is among the very best of the Bond films, so I'm excited to hear this.

Well the low point in the Craig era, is Quantum but perhaps part of that is down to the fact that Casino Royale was so good.

I'm a hardcore Bond fan and thought Skyfall had one of the best screenplays of the series.

Also speaking as a hardcore Bond fan, I disagree.

My favourite Bond film will likely always be The Living Daylights or On Her Majesty's Secret Service, but Skyfall is definitely up there. Certainly the best written since the Dalton era.

I like those two a lot as well, but, I would say, of Craig era, Skyfall is the least successful--Yeah, Quantum of Solace suffers from being boring, but it's not downright stupid and a mix of Bronson movies.... Casino Royale is his best.

I would put Skyfall in with The World is Not Enough (which it steals a plot point from) and Tomorrow Never Dies.

Skyfall is absolutely beautiful, probably the best-photographed Bond film ever.

It's also completely, utterly stupid, and it boggles my mind that John Logan continues to get work.

Really most Bond films are a bit stupid in places (even Casino Royale), and frankly they'd have got away with it more in Skyfall if Silva's escape had been less "His evil plan all along" and merely a well orchestrated Plan B or C...of course we only have Q's word for it that he did plan it all along, so I think there's wiggle room.

Skyfall is definitely my favourite Craig film.

So the next Bond movie will be going up against Marvel's Antman?

Casino Royale is fantastic, a brilliant assured return for Bond, eschewing the jokeyness (which had always been there, but had become ramped up to absurd levels in the Brosnan movies) in favour of gripping tension, and suave espionage. Loved it.

Quantum of Solace was just a big dumb action movie. OK for what it was, but could have been any old hollywood shite where everything explodes.

Skyfall was good, but it was more of a siege movie than a spy movie. There wasn't much Bondy stuff going on. I think it was a great film though.

I hope for something more akin to classic bond, like Casino Royale for the next one.

Re: Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes confirmed for Bond 24

See I think Skyfall was much more of a traditional Bond film than Casino Royale was:shrug: plus I loved that for once rather than the finale playing out in the villain's secret HQ, it actually played out in 007's secret HQ

PS. QoS is underrated IMO...

Yeah, I'm not thrilled Logan is the writer now (for the next three, iirc).

Maybe - maybe - Craig and Mendes can carry it over the line.
