Galileo restored!

There are a few pictures on the Galileo restoration Facebook page that shows the great job they did. I'm not sure if I can post the pictures or not, so I'll just provide a link.

I'm sure there will be more pictures coming soon!

Re: Galileo restored!

Space.com should have an article out tomorrow about the fully restored Galileo and possibly a video as well.

The individual pictures are posted somewhere on their FB page but it didn't come up in my feed either, I had to find them (they are under "recent posts by others.") They have a few others, I just took 4 that showed the different angles and then made one picture out of it.

Magnificent!
But if you see closeups of the side, you can see BIG brushstrokes in the red stripe, like they painted it with an old stiff brush. Seems an odd thing to do after all that good work.

I went back as well, and was able to dig up several pics from individual posts. A set of 23 images was posted earlier today.

You know, for some weird reason, these pics remind of the scene in Phase II: "In Harm's Way," where they open the garage door to reveal the shuttlecraft ... ;)
