Re: Favorite Albums Ever...

I limited it to my favorite album per artist, from my favorite go-to shelf, in no particular order:

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
I Robot - The Alan Parsons Project
Let It Bleed - The Rolling Stones
In Through the Out Door - Led Zeppelin
Star Wars: A New Hope - John Williams
"Melt" - Peter Gabriel
Slave to the Rhythm - Grace Jones
Cosmic Thing - B-52's
Changesonebowie - David Bowie
Switched-On Bach - Wendy Carlos

I agree that the "mix tape" is where it's at. I have a ton of singles that are favorites, too.

Re: Favorite Albums Ever...

News of the World - Queen
Tiny Music Songs From the Vatican Gift Shop - Stone Temple Pilots
Chavez Ravine - Ry Cooder
Yield - Pearl Jam
Laughing on Judgement Day - Thunder
The Second Coming - Stone Roses
1965 - Afghan Whigs

Special mention to The Archandroid by Janelle Monae. Not old enough to be a soundtrack to my life, but I feel it will be at that status another 2 decades. I have already listened to it more than any other album in the last couple of years.

I hate mix tapes. An album is an art. A good one should not be split up.

Re: Favorite Albums Ever...

^ Based on our prior convos, you should check out the Thunder album in my list Australis, I reckon it would be right up your street. Make sure it's that one though, it's their best by far. I think they actually did a tour supporting BCC.

Got Afterglow a few days back btw. Quality stuff.
