Seems plausible enough.

I did see this quote that would be a great plausible twist, and ties into the hibernation chambers we've seen in the trailers.

I'm thinking Pike, just like in the original timeline.

Fair point, I hadn't considered that.

Yes, the spoilers seem plausible, but could simply be logically drawn guesses from just viewing the stills, teasers, and trailers. People on these boards have made similar speculations.

Gotta buy a ticket, I guess.

Wonder if anyone could dig that up? Obviously totally possible, even though the trailer seems to imply it's Harrison (or maybe that's just how I'm remembering it).

Darn it all.

I seriously doubt they'd kill Kirk.

I don't know.

I think Pike is killed in the attack we see in the trailer. Then comes his memorial (the flyover and all). Kirk then meets with Admiral Marcus to convince Marcus to let him go after Harrison (the death of Pike making it personal -- hence Marcus telling him Starfleet isn't about vendettas). Marcus gives Kirk back the Enterprise and we go from there.

Yeah. Me, too. But the idea still gnaws at me. I just don't see a happy ending coming.

Further Thought - John Harrison's real name will be revealed as Jeffrey Jacob Abrams, and at the end of the movie he'll be banished to A Galaxy Far, Far Away.......... :)

There's only one flaw in that theory: It's not Abrams, but it's still a SW tie-in. Harrison is actually Anakin Skywalker. His use of the Force explains his persuasive powers over others and his great strength. "Star Trek Into the Dark Side" would've been too obvious a giveaway.

Sorry for another double post. I'll knock it off, but I found the link to what I was referring to and what yousirname mentions so I thought I should post it. It could be spoilerish, so read at your own risk.

I seriously doubt anyone other that Pike will be dying from the main cast.

Also, I think I've posted this a couple of times somewhere but here it is again, for what it's worth.

Quote:

Abrams: I don't like going to the movies to feel bad. I don't like going to the movies to feel depressed and feel diminished. The reason you go to the movies is to feel bigger and stronger and happier.
So this is a movie that they certainly go ‘Into Darkness,' but I would be the wrong director if it was about characters staying there.
This is very much a movie about hope, about love, about romance, and about facing something that is truly terrifying and finding a way through the connection of your family and surviving and being stronger afterwards.
