January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
So the thing about the STXI engineering that I most remember was the multiple warp cores. I took that idea and sort of ran with it:
http://i546.photobucket.com/albums/h...ps99ff557b.png I checked, and it actually does barely fit inside of the secondary hull of the TOS enterprise, with the smaller "tunnel" at the end of the engineering being right in where the nacelle pylons meet in the hull. |

neat!

Re: January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
Looks Awesome so far and does fit :)

Re: January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
Nice. Why is the inner bluer tube missing from the back left warp core?
And I would add railings to those stairs. We have seen people fall to their deaths in Engineering during a battle... |
Re: January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
For that matter, where do the stairs go? I'm guessing those windows on the second level are either some sort of observation/control room, or else the corridor?
Either way, it looks like you're onto something good here. |
Re: January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
I realized most of those things immediately after I took the photo :P
Here's an updated version: http://i546.photobucket.com/albums/h...pse4a413da.png |
Re: January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
Very nice - I love the sheer scale of it all. Great work so far. :)

Re: January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
The consoles down the center seem randomly placed. Shouldn't there be the same number of consoles aligned with each core? Each core would have its own team running the same tests and monitoring the same readings on their particular core, then one or two consoles down at the far end collecting and comparing all the data to keep everything in sync.

Re: January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
^They look great. You are really nitpicking. GalaticWierdo did a good job here

Re: January Art Challenge - GalacticWierdo
There are actually 4 sets of consoles evenly spaced, with a fifth pair being in the chamber at the back.
Thanks for the complements everyone, I'll continue to refine the design! |
