Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.
Hope this hasn't been touched on already, but here's test footage for a couple of Warner Brothers abominations.
Guaranteed to make you doubt the existence of God. |
Re: Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.
It looks like they did a better job with this than was done with Underdog.

Well, the kid was terrible in it, but the Marvin the Martian part could have worked.

Eddie instead of Scatman for the voice of Hong Kong Phooey kinda works and Marvin's voice is pretty close, but these movies are usually pretty lame.

Wow, that.was.bad. ...!

Re: Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.
The less said about "Marvin" the better.
However, childhood nostalgia and the theme song aside, "Hong Kong Phooey" was always a crap show and this update is, at worst, a continuation of that. |
Re: Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.
why does gross out humor have to be in everything? i feel like Hong Kong Phooey was pretending to be Johnny Knoxville.

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little...

Re: Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.
I didn't mind the Marvin one.
Good update for the kids, plus all the originals are still intact. It seems win-win. |
Re: Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.
Wasn't Hong Kong Fooey's real identity a police station janitor? He should be very familiar with the hygiene and usage of toilets. It only lasted one season, and I agree that the theme intro was its redeeming feature. Otherwise, I seem to recall that it's the same joke repeated again and again.
You can't really have Marvin without Duck Dodgers IMHO. I've never seen the DD series from the early 2000's. I think it won some awards so I might check it out when it becomes available on DVD. |
Re: Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.
The Duck Dodgers series was sublimely funny. I highly recommend it. Best use of the WB characters since Tiny Toons.

Re: Facepalm worthy test footage from Warner Bros.
I actually enjoyed these.

I would love to have a Marvin the Martian movie but that test footage was godawful. Less said about Hong Kong Phooey the better.
