Details of 9 Minute Preview Revealed *SPOILERS*
 
Comming soon.net has a write up of the first 9 minuets. Not too much is revealed but we do know that the movie is not going to be as dark as many fans fear and that is good news.

One preview said that Cumberbatch's mystery villain approached the family at the hospital offering "healing abilities" to help with their daughter. Which character, if they are, from the series had those kind of powers or access to them?

EDIT: Admittedly, it did remind me of this, but that doesn't really rule out any other kind of healing powers that could be found in the Trek universe.

Comingsoon.net just released a rundown of what we see in the upcoming 9 minute preview.

Most intriguing about what was showcased, said to represent the first nine minutes of the film, is that it asks far more questions than it answers. By the time it's done, we still don't know the identity of Benedict Cumberbatch's mystery villain and we're left with the reveal that much of what we've already seen in the trailer is actually part of a separate adventure that joins the Enterprise crew in media res.
I tried not to read, but it sounds great. Starting off that way should really give us the idea that the crew has come together to form the family unit we saw on the show. Interesting bit about Cumberbatch's character at the beginning, too.

Then why is he shown using weapons in the teaser? Mitchell wouldn't need guns.

According to Mr. Beaks over at Ain't It Cool News, Giacchino's score quote's the Khan theme at one point in the preview... the one that we all know and love, with an ominous declamatory horn stinger announcing the arrival of the Reliant... wonder if it its just something similar, or a direct quote... interesting... and... DISCUSS :D
