New Shuttle Design
I am currently developing an animated web series and found myself inspired by Patrickivan's Insignia Class starship. I always liked the idea of incorporating the delta shield in a design, so here is my take on doing that with a shuttlecraft design. This is a quick drawing made using Adobe CS5. Obviously, still needs work but I think I'm liking it. :-)

Re: New Shuttle Design
How quickly done?
For a quick set of schematics, this isn't half bad at all, and I mean in execution. I'm guessing that the nose is supposed to look somewhere in between that of the Type-5 and the Type-7 (or whatever is the name for Probert's shuttle design for TNG)? The ships registry suggests to me that she is from around the same era as the Excelsior and kin. The only change I'd suggest right now would be replacing the Constellation-like nacelles with something more like that of the Type-5 or similar (but shorter) to the Excelsior's. |
Re: New Shuttle Design
Thanks, all.
And, Jes...you're right about the ship's registry. My story takes place approximately a year following the events of Star Trek VI: TUC. Also, I am re-working the nacelles, but I still want to keep the flavor of the movie-era Enterprise nacelles. I know the movies used their own design, but I have a certain "look" I'm going for in this animated series. And thanks for the "execution" comment. I've gotten pretty comfortable drawing in CS5. |
