Local news rating stunt
In an effort to increase newscast ratings, and be able to charge more for commercials, a local TV station is giving tablet computers away. Viewers are asked to watch the newscasts for a keyword and enter using their eMail address and the keyword over the Internet. Apparently some "random" process is being used to pick the winners from the entrants each time. November 21 is to be the last day.
Yesterday at 5:30 the keyword was MAY Yesterday at 11:00 the keyword was THE Today at 5:30 the keyword was FORCE Tonight at 11:00 the keyword was BE I'm seeing a pattern here! |

"And also with you."
Sorry, I'm Episcopalian. I just couldn't resist. |

I have a better way.
Make all the ladies do their reporting in their underwear. :p |
Re: Local news rating stunt
That won't work. The news is serious business. Underwear would distract from sports.

Already been done. There's a production out of Toronto that was on late night cable for a very short time before it moved to pay channels. About a half hour show ranging in different topics. None of the topics were very serious, but rather more of an amusing nature. |
