Janeway's locks...short or long?
 

Okay, so this question has crossed my mind more than once while watching Voyager:

Do you prefer Captain Janeway's hair long or short? I thought further into the question; does the hairstyle affect her character at all? For example, does she look stronger or more authoritative in one style versus the other. Personally, I go back and forth in my mind, I like both styles. Actually, I think I mostly like the fact that we get to see both styles in the one series, that she didn't have the same look the whole time.

I liked it best long when it was in the ponytail, the shorter hair would have been good if they hadn't insisted on styling it like a stiff hair helmet.

Same. The short hair stands out a little more, but all of looks look nice on her :).

I'd have liked to see her be the third bald captain, but barring that, I like the shoulder length normal hair towards the end.

I wouldn't have minded a bun if it were just a normal bun. Seems weird to imagine Janeway getting up every morning to tease her bangs for the bun of steel. :lol:

Of the bun i liked almost all styles.
Although the hairdo in "Caretaker" looked sometimes terrible, like straw! I found the pony tail very boring.

If I had the reasoning faculties to identify the steady every changing multipledourous fracturing identities and persona's of my girl, it's possible I might misunderstand the situation and either think that I was having a schizophrenic break or that I was sliding through parallel deimensions and meeting up woth dopplegangers of the people I thought I knew.

I beleived that Janeway had had two hair cuts. The bun and the bob.

She did not have seventy different hair styles just becuase she combed it a little different every day.

Do women still comb their hair in the 24th century?

Or do they just stick their head in the replicator?

And when they transport you? Does it clean your teeth enroute?

Simple timesaving technology.

When I first started watching Voyager a thousand years ago I was in love with the bun. Absolutely smitten. I thought it made her look strong and poised. I marveled at her resemblance to Hepburn. It was quite different than current female hairstyles.

Now, it's my least favorite. I'm also not overly fond of her hair very long, that Workforce pic is as long as I like it.
