Reasons why star trek into darkness will be better then star trek 2009
Here are a few reasons why I have hope that star trek 2 will be better then star trek 2009. The first thing is this movie is not being written or made during a writers strike like the 2009 movie was. Secondly the writers dont have to worry about introducing the characters and they dont have to worry as much about star trek cannon since it takes place in a new universe. Also they can look at there mistakes and fix them for examble I herd that they may show more of the engine room because they herd how much people disliked the old one. Lastly they have had lots of time to write and make this movie because they pushed it back to next year. So what does everyone think are there good or bad reasons please comment below.

I agree. They don't have to worry about introducing all the main characters and tying the prime and altered universes together. They can really concentrate on the story which is a good thing since some thought 2009's plot was lacking.

Presumably this is will be a story they actually want to tell, using Star Trek as a metaphor.
Rather than make a film pre-determined by a "things to do" list. |

Since ST:XI was the greatest movie ever made improvement seems wildly optimistic.
Punch it! |

I'll wait until I see the movie before I declare if it's better or worse. Hopefully this new one won't be like watered down Trek characters in a Star Wars script.

the writers strike did have an affect on the movie because when they were filming the writers or directers couldnt change anything in the movie

It's not unheard of to make alterations to the script during shooting. For example, on set improvisation or perhaps if an action sequence isn't working then it might be rewritten. Because of the strike though, they couldn't effectively change anything (though really, I wonder who enforces a thing like that) and had to shoot exactly what was written.
Really though, the best thing about the new film is now that they know how much we love lens flare, Abrams will include twice as much. We'll have to wear sun glasses to watch this movie. |

The script had been completed and approved before the strike began. The only mention we had concerning script change during filming was a throwaway remark by J.J. about one new line he'd thought of and wished he could put in but (due to the strike) was prohibited from using. More changes by far (and more drastic ones) ended up being made to the script as a result of editing during post- than there potentially would have been during filming with no writers' strike on. |

Also there is a article on trek movie.com where Quinto said that the script is now able to evolve and become better because there is now writers strike this time.
