Quote:

Connie Nielsen grew up in the small seaside town of Elling, Denmark, and was raised a Mormon. Her father was a bus driver and her mother was an insurance clerk who also acted and wrote musical reviews. Nielsen's first taste of acting came when she was 15, performing in a cabaret written by her mother. At 18, she went to Paris where she worked as an actress and model. After Nielsen auditioned for French Kiss (losing the role to Meg Ryan), writer-director Lawrence Kasdan encouraged her to move to the United States permanently. Her first big break came in The Devil's Advocate in 1997, but it was Gladiator (2000) that provided her with her breakthrough role. Nielsen speaks eight languages: Danish, English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian and Swedish.
Quote:

Boss: After nearly losing his career, his family and his mind, Mayor Tom Kane’s (Kelsey Grammer) grip on Chicago is as powerful as ever. With high doses of medication, he’s able to beat back the physical symptoms of his debilitating brain disease, but it comes at a cost. Kane is left with intense and uncontrollable neurological side effects. Despite the delusions, Kane breaks ground on the O’Hare Airport expansion and looks toward his next endeavor -- protecting and repairing his legacy. With the astute counsel of new aides Mona Fredricks (Sanaa Lathan) and Ian Todd (Jonathan Groff), he plans to remove and rebuild a long forgotten housing project, now home to gang activity and rampant corruption. Committed to his unorthodox agenda, Kane prepares to cut out the cancers within the political machine he helped build.

I think she has a grade school teacher vibe about her which depending on how formative staring at Beautiful Grown Up Lady teacher from behind your desk was on your sexuality means she's either awe inspiring or makes you want to keep checking the clock.

What time is it anyway?

She does come across with a harsh, corporate vibe in the video and most of the pictures, yet she has a very nice smile in that one picture. I'll go with Thumbs Sideways. :borg:

I don't hear harsh and corporate, I hear "teacake, stop eating paper or I'll have to call your mother!"

Had to go sideways.

She's a lovely woman but I consider my vote as a means of thinning the field. I don't see how she'd fare against a Kat McPhee, Jennifer Lawrence, DAWoll or a few others.

I did like the Boss segment. That's the most info on the show I've seen and just their characters look like a fascinating character study.

Thumb sideways (the first time I've voted anything but "up" I think!). She's hardly unattractive, but not really my type.

She's like Heinrich Schliemann, but better-looking.

I must confess I had to wiki the connection of Schliemann being a polyglot. :alienblush:

But really, speaking eight languages is pretty awesome. It takes a lot of drive to lean that many: most people don't go beyond two, three languages at most. I wonder how many languages the people commenting in this thread actually know!

Thumbs down. She looks decent for her age though.

A very handsome woman. Many of those pics of her are quite lovely, others are...meh, okay.

As others have noted, she is quite talented.

I must add, though, that she has the vibe of a lovely older woman--Cate Blachett comes to mind, in that regard. In that regard, she is thus technically "not my type".

I say "up", albeit slightly.
