Deborah Ann Woll was born in New York City. She graduated from the BFA program in the USC School of Theatre. Woll made her acting debut in 2007, guest starring on one episode of the television series "Life." Her breakthrough role came in the HBO series "True Blood," where she appears as Jessica Hamby, a young vampire that was "made" as a punishment for a misdeed. Woll's boyfriend Edward "E.J." Scott, a comedian, is afflicted with choroideremia, which is a condition that slowly blinds its victim. Woll uses her celebrity status to help advocate for them and others with the disease.
Quote:

Based on the popular Southern Vampire book series by Charlaine Harris, True Blood follows the adventures of a small-town cocktail waitress Sookie Stackhouse (who all her life was an outsider due to her gift/curse of being a telepath) and how her life is turned upside down when a member of the undead (the vampire race 'came out of the coffin' several years earlier) walks into her life one fateful night.

I'm a straight female. If ever I were to go gay, Ms. Woll would be my first choice. So, thumbs up. :techman:

Thumbs up for one of the best things about True Blood and a lovely redhead, even if she is a little too thin and angular.

Ah, I guessed right. Definitely a Thumbs Up for her. She's got that sexy girl-next-door thing going for her. :bolian:

It's a shame about her boyfriend's medical condition. I think it's great when celebrities use their money and status to actually do something constructive.

Cute, sure.

As an aside, and building off of the previous couple of these threads: we argue about all the sexist and crude comments in these threads, but we've already had two female posters whose response has essentially been "I'd fuck her". We're either ok with that kind of comment or we're not, right? Guy says the same thing, we go through the same shitstorm again.

Just saying...

Never heard of her. Clearly she's not unattractive, but she's not really my "type" therefore I went sideways.

I agree. It seems the condition is pretty serious, so kudos to her for her advocacy and for raising awareness of it. According to wiki, she also suffers from coeliac disease: a couple of friends of mine have it, and while not life threatening, it's certainly no fun.

I dunno. To test your hypotesis, I suggest you go around calling black people the n-word. Since I've seen some black guys using it among themselves, it must be obviously perfectly ok for white people to use it. The world is perfectly black-and-white, after all, with no nuances and situational conditions.

Using her fame and celebrity to do good for others. That is much appreciated!

Sadly, I do not know her work as I don't subscribe to HBO. But it sounds as though she is an accomplished actress.
